“Nappy” is an American term historically used with a derogatory intent to denigrate the identity of enslaved Afros, comparing their curly Afro hair to natural, cotton they picked.
The Natural Hair Movement was born on this term in 2000, where many black girls proudly decided to redefine the term Nappy, positively, to give it a whole new positive meaning.
The Nappytalia brand was born a bit for fun as a simple Facebook community in which Italian girls with nappy hair exchanged tips on taming their curls. Over time Evelyne S. Afaawua, founder of the community, creates a real line of products for every type of afro hair to satisfy all Nappy women.
Being proud of your hair also means being proud of your roots: love yourself as you are, bring out your every detail to the fullest with Nappytalia.
